Title: Adolescent Development    July 20th   1:30 pm
Description: This workshop on adolescent development defines three transitional stages that are often critical to a youth’s self-image and sense of self-worth. Workshop participants will focus on the power of perception that affects the choices we make, and will look at perception through the lens of the adolescent. Several models will be used as working tools for understanding how youth may see their environment which deeply affects how well they transition to maturity.

Second Title: Resiliency Adolescence    July 21st     10:30 am
Description: Fostering resiliency is critical for all adolescents. Understanding the strength-based factors that foster resiliency should not be limited only to those adolescents identified as “at-risk” or “high-risk.” This workshop will look at the work of multiple researchers in adolescent resiliency studies. Participants will review case profiles, assess the youth’s needs and identify what knowledge, skills, and tools can be used to foster resiliency while making those tools culturally appropriate to the adolescent.
