Michigan Model Comprehensive School Health Education Training

 

Michigan Model for Comprehensive School Health Education®  curriculum facilitates interdisciplinary learning through lessons that integrate health education into other curricula, including language arts, social studies, science, math and art. Teacher training in the implementation of the Model ensures that students and their schools as a whole get maximum benefits from this carefully structured program.

 

• Understand the philosophy and compre  hensive nature of the Michigan Model for  Comprehensive School Health Education®

• Review essential health skills.

• Identify and understand the steps to skills-based instruction.

• Identify teaching skills and strategies for effective implementation of skills-based instruction.

• Explore the teaching strategies and skills used in each module.

• Review the objectives and lessons of the various modules

• Discuss and practice effective teaching strategies used in the curriculum.

• Review the materials needed to implement the curriculum and identify how to access them.

• Share expertise.

• Enjoy learning together.

 

 At the completion of the training, you will receive a certificate for the number of course hours you participated.  Following this training we will be available for technical assistance by phone or e-mail.  Site visits and workshops can also be arranged for implementation of the other modules.
